Rust and Fire (Leviathan I)

from Carnelian Moon by Archaic Earth

/

lyrics

When the gods' eyes close on this world
Dreams are lost in silent linguicide
Ashes drip from the mouths of starving babes
Tears fall fast and dry upon the air

Who will stand by you,
And what will protect you from the steel winds and sleepless fires?

Not one of us will survive this
Not one of us will remain to mourn.

What solace can be found here
beneath a wicked sun and crimson skies?
We must stab at the flailing serpent's maw
With our humble harvest knives.

Build high the barricades
Bury and disgrace their wretched tracks
Fill bottles with the blood of their fathers
Tonight we gather to send the fire back.

Reforge the spear from rusting weathered plows
Collect the iron oxide, ignite the thermite mounds!

Not one of us will be left behind!
Not one of us will ever tolerate another master!

about

Archaic Earth Mount Forest, Ontario

Born of dripping moss and delving roots, formed in the dark places beyond the veil and sung by the fire and fury of creation itself.
